Connect Logistics employees donate to St.Albert Tools for School...
Connect Logistics, St. Albert's largest private employer, made a large donation to the United Way to help schools in the local community. The story is unique in that Team Members from daytime Production, Inventory, and Receiving surprised senior management by requesting to forgo their monthly social activity and donate the monies, a whopping $2,500, to the United Way Tools for School.
Connect contributes $20 per employee each month to a social fund as a part of their First Choice Employer strategy. Each supervisor can then take their group out for a monthly or bi-monthly team-building event such as paintball, bowling, picnic, etc.
The story doesn't end there- Exel Logistics, the parent company of Connect Logistics, was impressed with the employee's initiative and agreed to throw in another $1,250 from their Corporate Giving division making the total donation a much needed $3,750. The employees themselves chose Tools For Schools, hoping to support and make a difference for some lucky children in St. Albert this September.
